At Coila we attempt to be a blessing to people of all ages and in all places of life through a variety of ministries. Below are some the ministries we offer.
Christian Education – Sunday School
The basic meaning of the word, “disciple,” is learner. Christian discipleship is a calling to life-long learning. It begins in seeking Jesus Christ in His Word. Sunday School addresses all five functions of the church: discipleship, worship, evangelism, fellowship and ministry.
The current Sunday School program is “The Gospel Project®” it is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for all ages. Age appropriate classes examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ. Participants will journey from Genesis to Revelation and discover how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today. Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 am.
Each Sunday during the worship service Pastor Peter Bailey invites the children to come forward and participate in a children’s message. The message includes practical examples, asks age appropriate questions and includes fun illustrations relative to the sermon topic.
We provide nursery space for families with children during our Sunday morning worship service. Our nursery is also equipped with windows looking into the sanctuary and speakers that allows parents to see and hear the service from the nursery.
At Coila we place a high value on prayer and recognize that we serve a gracious and powerful God who desires to hear and answer our prayers in accordance with His perfect will. If you have a prayer request that you would like us to uphold in prayer please call or email the church.
“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him…a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” – (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
The wisest man who ever lived wrote that we were not meant to fight our battles alone. We need community. Jesus told us that He is where “two or three of us get together in His name” (Matthew 18:20). When Jesus said that He was giving us a prescription for an intentional dynamic we call a community of believers.
Prayer meetings are held to pray for our communities, for our Churches and pastors, for National, State and Local leaders and for our area schools. Prayer meetings include a time of praise and worship in song and a time of confession and repentance.
Area Churches come together on a monthly bases on the first Wednesday of every month for a community prayer meeting held at 7:00 pm located at one of the areas participating Churches. Feel free to call the church at 518-677-8101 for the next location.
Coila Church holds a weekly prayer meeting on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm with the exception of the first Wednesday, as seen above.
At Coila we support a variety of local, national, and foreign missionaries. If you would like more information on the missionaries we support or if you are a missionary/church planter or other Christian worker who would like to present your ministry to our church please contact the church.
Worship through Music
“Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving!”(Psalm 147:7a) Traditional Hymns are sung during the worship service. Various additional worship music is incorporated throughout the year including praise songs led by a worship team, occasional special music, and a seasonal choir.
Service Opportunities and Community Outreach
There are numerous opportunities available to our members to serve the body of Christ at Coila and to show the love of Christ to those in our community.
